The design System
I created a small design system using components in Figma.
Onboarding
Users start by taking a quick quiz on their interests which would help the platform suggest hobby options. These hobbies include activities related to music, arts, crafts, food, brain teasers, etc. Users have the option of building specific skills (e.g. Watercolor painting) or exploring a broader category of activities (e.g. At home DIYs) for fun.
Users can also edit or change the suggested options. The AI will take into consideration the users choices and collaborative filtering to suggest hobbies & activities.
My hobbies
Users have the opportunity to register for courses, find events and get suggested challenges for their chosen hobbies. The users can also mark activities completed by uploading an image of their progress. Signing up for events, courses and completing challenges earns users badges which helps keep them motivated. The page also includes suggested starter kits to provide the user with tools they need to get started. The content is driven by content creators on the platform.
Users can explore more hobbies and even save events and challenges for later.
There are two types of user accounts.
👩💻 A business account where the account can post events and activities/challenges. The account can gain followers and all app content is created by business accounts.
👩💻 A learner account where the user can track progress on their hobbies, create friends, earn badges, compete and more!
Business Model
👩💻 Affiliate Marketing - The app can set up affiliate links with third-party sellers of products & services such as Amazon and Coursera to earn a commission based on a cost-per-click (CPC) and cost-per-acquisition (CPA) revenue model. Starter Kits and Courses will lead users to links on their platforms. This also includes paid events hosted by independent parties e.g. Sip & Paint.
👩💻 Content creators will have the option of promoting content which will also be a source of income for the app.
